Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas Wedding
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas wedding #NickYanka over the weekend of 1 December 2018 was a mash-up of Hindu and American cultures. The couple tied the knot over a number of days in a series of events with two grand ceremonies in India complete with Hathi, Ghoda, Dhol and Nagada followed by the western wedding officiated by Nick’s father, Paul Kevin Jonas, Sr. who is a Pastor.
Speaking on her excitement, Priyanka Chopra the Quantico Actress stated on her Instagram:
“Being able to have two big weddings, in India, with our closest family and friends was unbelievably special.”
Below are some pictures from the Mehendi Ceremony which is a Hindu wedding ritual that typically happens a few days before the wedding. It is a ceremony where all of the women in the bride and groom’s families, along with close friends, gather together while the bride has elaborate henna designs applied to her hands and feet. Guests will usually get involved and get some designs on their hands as well.
The couple then had a Sangeet Musical Ceremony in the Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhavan Palace, an event where the Bride and Groom’s families perform songs and dances relating to the couple. Priyanka Chopra wore an embroidered sequins sari in gold and silver and Nick Jonas wore a blue traditional Indian frock coat called the Sherwani both created by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.
Last but not least was the Western Wedding which took place at the Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhavan Palace lawn. The Bride and Groom wore custom-made Ralph Lauren outfits.
The Bride’s wedding dress was hand-beaded embroidered, and her veil was 75ft long also made by Ralph Lauren, and it needed a small team to carry as Priyanka walked down the aisle alongside her Mum. See some beautiful pictures from the wedding below:
